EPOCH 5 PUBLIC RELATIONS REPRESENTS BETHPAGE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION

Huntington, NY August, 2003 -- Epoch 5 Public Relations, a leading full-service communications firm located in Huntington, NY, has been retained by Bethpage Federal Credit Union (Bethpage), Long Island's largest credit union measured by assets. Epoch 5 President Katherine Heaviside made the announcement.

"Bethpage is the premier credit union on Long Island," said Heaviside. "Epoch 5 is looking forward to telling the story of its success and to raising its visibility throughout the region."
"Epoch 5 offers the resources and strategic approach Bethpage was looking for as we move forward," stated Bethpage President & CEO Kirk Kordeleski. "With its strong reputation for generating publicity and its broad-based experience working with the business community, we are confident Epoch 5 will effectively communicate our mission and what we have to offer."

Kordeleski explained that as a not-for-profit financial cooperative, Bethpage returns its earnings to its members in the form of higher rates on investments and lower rates on loans and other products and services. Bethpage offers a full range of loans, IRAs and other savings accounts, free checking, credit counseling and educational seminars to over 115,000 members nationwide.

Since Kordeleski's appointment as chief executive in January 2000, Bethpage has grown its assets by 58 percent, to $1.6 billion. Heaviside said that Epoch 5 would concentrate on communicating Bethpage's enhanced capabilities as the credit union expands through branch openings and financial-services partnerships with retail outlets and other credit unions. She cited Bethpage's plan to establish a new branch in Hempstead in the fall of 2003, which will increase its presence with a full roster of financial products delivered in areas underserved by the commercial banking industry.

Currently, Bethpage serves over 170 Long Island companies, including 11 out of the top 15 Long Island employers, and maintains eight branches (Bethpage, Bay Shore, Glen Cove, Melville, Port Jefferson, Riverhead, Islandia and Greenlawn). In addition, relationships with other credit unions and retail outlets allow Bethpage
members to make various transactions at 19 shared service centers and to access approximately 200 surcharge-free ATM machines throughout Long Island.

Now in its twenty-fifth year, Epoch 5 Public Relations has represented a variety of noted regional and national organizations. Current clients include: Adelphi University; Cablevision; Catholic Health Services; CVS/pharmacy; Feldman, Meinberg & Co.; King Kullen Grocery Co., Inc.; T. Weiss Realty Corp.; The Garden City Hotel; and Daniel Gale Real Estate.

Other represented organizations include online companies, trade associations, healthcare organizations, and financial, real estate, and professional service firms and consultants. Epoch 5 offers complete media relations, issues management, image development, event planning, and graphic services.
